How perfectly TIMELY this TALK is...after hearing last night's STAKE CONFERENCE....This supports the COUNSEL we received last night on MISSIONARY WORK!!! (smile) I thought STAKE CONFERENCE was GREAT last night!!!! The YOUTH did a super job on the music...and the talks were marvelous...

It was a great encouragement to get me to write to 4 friends that are on the mission field. I love how Sister Alfred and her sister took turns to read the B of M.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth...I LOVED that part of her talk, as well...how Sister Allred and her sister could hardly WAIT for their turn to read the Book of Mormon...What a wonderful "attitude" of EXCITMENT...!!!! I couldn't help notice how many parallels Sister Allred and I had in common...As a CONVERT to the church...I often REFLECT on what that ONE DECISION of my accepting the gospel has meant...not only in MY LIFE...but, how many other lives were affected by it...Those I met on my mission...the spirits that came into my home...the man I am sealed to...and all those I have met in the Church...since I made that decision in October 1973. All I can say is WOW....8 children - almost 6 have served full-time missions...(more ripples) 7 of the 8 so far are endowed...and almost 11 grandchildren are now being RAISED UP in the gospel...that little "rippling" affect...(not counting the TEMPLE work being done on Garvin's and my side of the family...)Think about it in your OWN LIVES...the CONVERTS in your family (or YOU)....or in another way of looking at it...Those who fell away...and how many lives or generations that affected...Isn't it INCREDIBLE? ONE CONVERT or ONE falling away...What a powerful...concept...the affect of ONE...
ReplyDeleteI also loved how at the end of Sister Allred's talk, she said to be examples of kindness and righteousness -- there are sermons in those 2 qualities...in our FHE review of the conference talks we're on Pres. Eyrings and Elder Hales talks (Sunday morning session)..our "buzz" words this week on the blackboard are "invite the Spirit"; "Christian courage"; "unity" and "peacemaker"....all qualities of kindness and righteousness. You can never "over-talk" the gospel -- there is so much to get deep into our hearts.
ReplyDeleteSATAN IS WORKING AT A FEVERISH PITCH; I feel I'm out of breath catching up to him, then passing him, now slowing down to catch my breath and he charges ahead, so I go again and keep running although I'm tired...:) it's a fight for sure...a constant battle to keep examples of righteousness written in the minds of ourselves and our children!
