Our talk this week...is perhaps the BEST talk I have ever read on "Hope"...by President Dieter F. Uchtdorf. I would love to hear your THOUGHTS...for...I found my spirit was greatly "enriched"...and plan on digesting its contents...more than once...
I believe this talk is CRITICAL...to our "times"....
I used this talk for my VT message last month and have read it several times. So many wonderful quotes to pull from it! A very timely talk indeed! One perhaps to be reread again and again in the days ahead. I needed the reminder that despair is a tool of the adversary and in opposition to hope.
ReplyDeleteLinda...I couldn't agree with you more...My "Ensign" was filled with my thoughts...I UNDERLINED nearly the entire talk...I believe that this talk will be one that will need to be READ over and over...again....I loved this line: "Hope has the POWER to FILL our lives with HAPPINESS"...Hope is a GIFT of the SPIRIT...a principle of PROMISE...a COMMANDMENT...leads to PEACE, MERCY, REJOICING...GLADNESS...You mentioned DESPAIR...I liked what he said about DESPAIR: "the adversary uses DESPAIR TO BIND HEARTS and MINDS in SUFFOCATING DARKNESS...Hope is NOT KNOWLEDGE but an abiding TRUST IN CHRIST...I am so grateful for such INSIGHT AND WISDOM that was all through this talk...The NEED to PRAY for this GIFT OF HOPE is critical...
